sometimes it's a pair of old faded denim I know it's gonna fit me like a friend or some radio song you can't help but sing along wishing they'd spin it over and over again

Day 26: Favorite nonfiction book
Probably the only non-fiction book I've read that isn't a textbook. After seeing the movie and the documentary on the History Channel, I decided to get the book and read it. Probably the only time my 16 year old brother and I can agree on a genre: military history. LOL

I'm sorry for the demon I've become you should be sorry for the angel you are not I apologize for the cruel things that I did but I don't regret one single word I said

Day 25: Favorite book you read in school
Mostly I hated the books we were required to read in school and only read them because it was required and easy to do so. This one, I started out not liking it, but after a chapter or two, I liked it.

Saturday, September 24, 2011

the dawn is breaking a light shining through you're barely waking and I'm tangled up in you

Day 24: Book that contains your favorite scene
A little confused why I chose this book. I've never read it, don't claim to have read it before. I've only seen the movie. I must be cheating and assuming the movie is like the book. Or just pulling a book out of my a**, lol. Anyway, if I am assuming the movie is a close follower of the book, I know that's wrong. So...yeah...guess away!

who's to say what's impossible well they forgot this world keeps spinning and with each new day I can feel a change in everything

Day 23: Book you tell people you’ve read, but haven’t (or haven’t actually finished)
This is an easy one. I loved the movie that came out in 1993 when I was a kid (still like it) and tried to read the book more than once. But never could get into it.

I met a girl and it was easy to see that she was falling hard for me that girl she wanted me to know

Day 22: Book you plan to read next
I plan on reading Philippa Gregory's second book in the Cousin's War series next. If it's still on the Kindle. If not, then I'm not sure if this will still be the next book that I read. I'm hoping for it still be next though.

all he could think about was I'm too young for this got my whole life ahead hell I'm just a kid myself how'm I gonna raise one

I'm bored and procrastinating doing something pretty important (oops). So I thought having a fun post with a pregnancy survey was a great idea. :)

Due date:
March 07, 2012

How far along are you now:
16 weeks, 1 day

Boy or girl:
Wouldn't you like to know? ;)

Was baby planned:
Not in the least, but that doesn't mean he or she is any less wanted. :)

Do you know who the babies father is:
No, not at all. (Very heavy sarcasm, I know that doesn't translate well in written text. But I think this is a stupid question.)

If so, who is it:
My fiancé.

How did you find out you were pregnant:
I felt flu-like symptoms and knew there was no reason that I would have gotten the flu. Plus, the negative/positive home pregnancy test worried me so I did a second one about five days later and it was a positive HPT.
"Well they have this test that you pee on. I thought I was doing it for a science experiment, but apparently my body had different plans!" <-- The answer given by the girl I copied this from. It made me giggle, so I'm leaving it here.

What were your first symptoms:
Nausea. Plain and simple.

Who did you tell first:
My fiancé. It went much better than I had expected it to. :)

Who was with you when you found out:
My cell phone, lol. I was using it as a stop watch to make sure I waited long enough before throwing away the pee stick. Freaked out and went downstairs to show my fiancé.

How far were you when you found out:
If you count my suspicious mind, then 4 weeks, 5 days. If you count the failed first HPT, then 5 weeks, 3 days. It was confirmed by the OB at 7 weeks, 5 days.

What was your reaction:
Oh, s***.

What was the baby's father's reaction:
Positive. That's the only word I'm going to use to describe it.

What were your parent's reactions:
Mostly positive. Definitely became excitement quickly.

Any names:
Yep. But those are sealed up with sex of the baby. ;)

Have you heard the heartbeat? If so what was the HR:
Yep. At my first appointment, we heard the little one's HB during the ultrasound. It was a healthy 164 (if my memory is correct, if not then 160something). I've heard it again at my second appointment Sept. 1st, but didn't get a HR that time.

Baby ancestral types:
Mom (me) - Belgian, Romanian, Italian, Czechoslovakian, English...that's all I can remember, but I know it's a long list.
Dad (fiancé) - Portuguese...and that's all I know of off the top of my head. I know there is more, but don't know it.

Will baby have any siblings:
Biological, no. My fiancé has already decided he's never getting me pregnant again (I guess I've been that bad, lol). Maybe at some point, we'll look into adoption. But probably not. So we're going to have one human kid and multiple animal ones. :)

Have you and dad felt baby move:
Nope. It's possible that I've been feeling it, but since I have no idea what to feel for, it all just feels like weird stomach rumblings to me. So until there's definite baby kicks happening, Dad won't be feeling anything.

Who will be in the delivery room:
The necessary medical personnel and hopefully my fiancé. Right the plan is that he will be there, but he's not sure if he wants to be in the same room as me while I'm delivering a baby. Apparently he's a little afraid of me. -_-

Will you use medication:
Probably not. :( I hate needles, so I'm not sure how well getting an epidural or an IV will work for me.

Did you have morning sickness:
Yes. It could have been worse and probably would have had I been able to eat more often than I was. I did learn quickly though that my prenatal vitamin could cause me to go from feeling okay to vomiting. So it took me less than a week to learn: take it with food or milk and close to bed time.

Cravings:
Yep yep. Usually it's weird stuff like cherry tomatoes. I actually sent my fiancé out to buy some in the middle of me making dinner one day. I basically told him, "Go buy these now, or I won't make dinner."
I'm lucky he loves me, otherwise...

Did you have any mood swings:
::sigh:: My poor fiancé, he's such a good sport. I try to pay attention to what I'm doing and how my mood is, but I don't always catch it right away. I can be a moody b**** as it is, so add in the influx of hormones and...yeah, you get the picture.

Formula or breastfeeding:
For the sheer fact that it costs less, I am willing to try breastfeeding. I know it's supposed to be better for baby and blah, blah, blah. But to be honest, I don't want the sore nipples. I don't want to be the only one who can feed the baby. So while I plan on trying and getting a breast pump and bottles so my fiancé (and anyone else) can help with feeding, I'm not opposed to formula. Because formula is not that bad. There are plenty of babies who are solely fed formula and they grow up perfectly healthy. Besides, what if I'm sick or need a medication? Can't breastfeed then. So yeah, our kid will be getting formula. It just might not be the primary food source.

When did you start to show:
I haven't been able to suck in my gut for the last few weeks. So...I'm guessing that means around 14 weeks, I was showing. I did have one stranger notice when I was about 12 weeks along. She was a nice, older woman and wasn't trying to embarrass me. And last week, the head maintenance guy for the complex asked my fiancé while I wasn't in earshot if I was pregnant. He didn't want to put his foot in his mouth and still have to come work on our apartment, lol.

Are you excited:
Yep.

Who will help with baby after he or she is born:
Right now, no one is expected to come help. I know that's kind of stubborn, but I like that. Yes, help could be nice. But I don't want other people coming in and telling me what to do right away. Let me and him figure out what to do, and if we need help, we have a phone. :)

What is your favorite thing about being pregnant:
Umm...eating a lot and losing weight. :/ Yeah, that happened. But as long as I stay healthy and the baby stays healthy, my OB isn't worried.

What is the worst thing about being pregnant:
The entire first trimester (minus weeks 1 and 2, when I technically wasn't pregnant yet) and the new pains associated with a growing uterus. And here I thought menstrual cramps could be bad. I might never complain about those again, lol.

What one thing do you miss doing since being pregnant:
Strangely enough, it's being able to drink. I don't drink much as it is, so that's weird to me. I think it's just because now I can't drink and I don't like being told what to do.

Any days you wish you weren't pregnant:
Yes, but no. I'm happy we're going to have a child, but I'm not happy being pregnant. It's not as great as other moms like to make it sound. Don't get me wrong, it's not super horrible, it's just not the great thing many women make it sound like. :)

How many kids do you want:
Just one. Maybe down the road, we'll decide that a second one is a good idea, but probably not.

How many pregnant women do you know:
A few. Most of them, I'm happy and excited for them. One or two, I've got an irrational anger towards. Oh, well...I'll get over it. :)

Are you ready for baby?
Sure...about as ready as anyone can be for a life-altering change with no ideas of what is going to happen.
We have a crib, mattress, baby clothes, receiving blankets, caps, a diaper bag, a cradle swing from Fisher-Price and a baby registry. That's really all we can do to be ready. Have a plan and wait for it to implode because babies don't live according to their parents' plans.

Ahahahaha! I opened Pandora to use the first song that played as the lyrics for the post title and Kenny Chesney's "There Goes My Life" started playing! Slightly fitting as this baby is an unexpected surprise. :)

Wednesday, September 21, 2011

I’m giving up on doing this alone now 'cause I’ve failed and I’m ready to be shown how he’s told me the way and I’m trying to get there and this life sentence that I’m serving I admit that I’m every bit deserving but the beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair

Day 21: Favorite picture book from childhood
This book has possibly the most beautiful paintings in it. Okay, so I haven't looked at the book since I was about 12, but this is definitely a book that the fiancé and I will be reading to the little one. <3 It's still on my bookshelf because it's one of my picture books that I never got rid of.

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

this is more than just romance it's an endless summer I can feel the butterflies, leading me through it take my heart, I'll take your hand

Day 20: Book you’ve read the most number of times
Okay, so I know that I already used this book this challenge. But being my all-time favorite book, it also happens to be the book that I've read the most amount of times. When I was a kid, when I'd read all the books in the house, I would go back to this one when I wanted something to read. True, it started out the abridged version, but since I have read the unabridged version more than once. :)

Monday, September 19, 2011

oh it's what you do to me oh it's what you do to me oh it's what you do to me oh it's what you do to me what you do to me

Day 19: Book that turned you on
Just like the post on Day 14 was slightly embarrassing, so is this one. But seriously, books are not a turn on for me. Potential TMI, but if I want fiction to turn me on, I'll just watch porn with the fiancé. But anyway, I took the easy way out and chose the only romance novel I've read (complete waste of my time). And to be honest, I'm not even sure if this is the correct title. I know it was one of the three in the trilogy, just can't remember which one. Sorry.

Sunday, September 18, 2011

I dare you to move I dare you to move I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor

Day 18: Book you’re most embarrassed to say you like
Meh, I'm not really embarrassed to say that I like any book. But since so many people bash the books, I figured it was a good one to use today. Books are meant to be entertainment. Not every book you choose to read has to be a literary classic. Lighten up and have fun every once in a while. :P

Saturday, September 17, 2011

if I could, then I would I'll go wherever you will go way up high or down low I'll go wherever you will go

Day 17: Shortest book you’ve read
I'm guessing here. I know I read this book to my younger brothers when they were little. But I honestly don't know what the shortest book I read was. Sorry.

Friday, September 16, 2011

so long ago, I don't remember when that's when they say I lost my only friend

Day 16: Longest book you’ve read
This is pretty easy because I haven't read many super long books. Most of the long books I know of, didn't have much interest to me.

Thursday, September 15, 2011

I said, "hey girl, what's your name? haven't I seen you before? I recognize them dark green eyes when you walked through the door. are you alone, or are you with someone?

Day 15: First “chapter book” you can remember reading as a child
I remember reading this in kindergarten and near the beginning of it. So I was four years old, maybe within a few weeks of my fifth birthday. Yeah, I was that kid doing everything way before my classmates. My grandma taught me to read because I was her granddaughter and her favorite. :) She has three sons and no daughters, she wanted a daughter, but settled for her firstborn grandchild. <3

if I had just one tear running down your cheek maybe I could cope maybe I'd get some sleep if I had just one moment at your expense maybe all my misery would be well spent

So...I know soon enough I'm going to have one of my own and expect everyone to agree just how cute little baby S is, but newborns are ugly! Seriously, why must people constantly post pictures and be like isn't my wrinkled old man, raisin baby adorable? Lol, in six to seven months, when I'm posting loads of pictures about my little demon spawn, please don't remind me of this rant.

Anyway...while I plan on trying to keep my complaints to a minimum, today I feel the need to whine and whimper. For the past few days I've been having terrible [intermittent] pain down the left side of body. If I hadn't already mentioned this to my doctor and been told it was normal, I'd be freaking out. But one of those lovely pregnancy aches and pains can be sciatic nerve pain. Oh, joy. I'm 26 (minus 19 days) and I hobble around like a 90 year old woman some days. Seriously, worse pain I have ever had in my life. And that's saying a lot since I get terrible migraines that last for days and no medications seem to help. I've strained muscles, hurt nerves and sprained joints before. None compare to the random pain of sciatica. Here's to the hope that it's going to go away once my uterus shrinks back to normal size. Because really, there isn't any damage to my sciatic nerve, just pressure that will increase over the next few months. Please excuse me while I go cry into my Yoplait® Greek strawberry yogurt over that thought. :'(

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

leave it on cruise control I'm gonna hold it all inside 'til the right time comes down the road I got a feelin' my head's a reelin' my heart is screamin' I'm about to bust loose bottled up emotion

Day 14: Book whose main character you want to marry
This is embarrassing. I think I lost my mind in choosing this book for today, lol. I'm going to go with I was being silly and chose at random. I've never wanted to marry a character in a book. I've thought a few characters were pretty awesome and I'd love to meet a real person like that, but never fantasizing about a fictional character.
I should point out that the main character I'm referring to must be Jacob Black, since I find Bella and Edward to be whiny weirdos. Which is funny, since I do like the books as entertainment. But then again, I'm not a snob who thinks a book can't be liked if it's not literary classic material.

I'm beautiful in my way 'cause God makes no mistakes I'm on the right track, baby I was born this way

So...I started a list of pregnancy milestones. If interested, click on the milestones link and check it out. There's really nothing too personal on there, so I don't mind it being public.

In other baby news, this past weekend the fiancé and I went to a garage sale on Saturday after his class and we got a nearly new crib and swing/cradle for $60. We do need to get a new mattress for the crib, but that costs a lot less than a crib. I know it's still early to buy anything, but everything is going well. So it's okay to buy a couple things here and there. Especially when they're used and we haven't even spent $65 yet. Also, our neighbor with the newborn has given us a few onesies that his son already outgrew. :)

Yay for making it to Week 15! <3 Only 35 more to go, lol.

And not related at all...
Right-click and view image in a new tab to magnify if needed. :)

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

I woke up early this morning around 4am with the moon shining bright as headlights on the interstate I pulled the covers over my head and tried to catch some sleep but thoughts of us kept keeping me awake

Day 13: Book whose main character is most like you
The Elizabeth I portrayed in this story is pretty similar to me. Stubborn, worried about the future. At least, similar to me before I found out I'm pregnant. Since finding out, I can't think of a character that I've read that I feel similar to.

Monday, September 12, 2011

laid back swervin' like I'm George Jones smoke rollin' out the window an' ice cold beer sittin' in the console

Day 12: Book that is most like your life
Okay, obviously, this book is nothing like my life at the moment. I'm not an adolescent girl. But when I read this book as a younger girl, I felt like it me, just in the 70s. To be honest, I can't remember much about the book (plot, characters, etc.), just that I liked it and felt a connection to Margaret.

Sunday, September 11, 2011

'cause boy, you came around and you knocked me down knocked me down sometimes love comes around and it knocks you down

Day 11: Book from your favorite author
Instead of choosing one book by my favorite author, I found a picture that is a collage of his books. Of course, it's not all of the books he's written. Just a few of the Alex Cross books. :)

Saturday, September 10, 2011

I throw my hands up in the air sometimes, saying AYO! gotta let go! I wanna celebrate and live my life, saying AYO! baby, let’s go!

Day 10: Book that changed your life
Hmm...so the other day, I went through the whole list of challenges for this challenge and saved images to use for each day. I completely forgot what my reasoning for choosing this book as the life changer, lol.

Friday, September 9, 2011

but when I look at the stars, when I look at the stars, when I look at the stars I see someone else when I look at the stars, the stars, I feel like myself

Day 9: Book that makes you sick
While this particular story is a work of fiction, there are plenty of true stories similar to it. And while the positive parts of the book don't make me sick, knowing that people can act the way the antagonists of the book do is what makes me sick. Hopefully history never repeats to the same extent. (I know there is similar genocide in Africa.)

Thursday, September 8, 2011

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

let's try it one more time with feeling darlin', take it from the top let me feel those tears a fallin' girl I don't want to miss a single drop darlin' make believe you're makin' me believe each word you say try it once more with feeling and we'll call it a day

Day 7: Book that you can quote/recite
So...I'm cheating and picking a book that is quotes from a tv show that I can quote. But I can't quote any books. I may have read a few more than once, but it's much harder to quote a book than tv. For me anyway.

and when they got married and decided to have one of their own she said, "Be honest, tell me what you want" and he said, "Honey you outta know, a sweet, little, beautiful one just like you I want a beautiful, wonderful, perfect all American girl

Today is officially the start of the second trimester. So I figure it's okay to tell everyone through this blog. So if you've recently been on the page (not just looking at it through Google Reader) and noticed the pregnancy ticker along the top. This is why. :)

We won't be finding out the sex of the baby until the day s/he gets here. According to my mom, that makes me "no fun."

She keeps seeing adorable items in the store and wants to buy them, but they're gender-specific items. Sorry, but I don't want a deluge of pink items if we're having a girl. Or a deluge of trucks if we're having a boy.

And another way we're not going to be any fun: we won't tell anyone the name until the baby is born and the birth certificate is signed. People have opinions and I don't want them. It's harder for someone to give his/her negative opinion of the name if the kid already has it. No changing Mom and Dad's minds at that point.

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

it doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M just put your paws up 'cause you were born this way, baby

Day 6: Favorite young adult book
This is easy. I could read the series more than once and not get bored with the books. So I'm going to choose the first book in the series. :)

Monday, September 5, 2011

Sunday, September 4, 2011

when I lost him ache shudder shock of pale my my true love Niccoló Donati these days are smoking days though he won't see

Day 4: Book that makes you cry
I can't really say that I cried when reading this. But I can say that it's a very saddening book. The movie released in 2009 was pretty awful and not worth seeing if you've read the book. Maybe if you've never read the book it's a decent movie, but I don't know.

Saturday, September 3, 2011

and so it seems like we'll never have the chance ain't it funny how some feelings you just can't deny and you can't move on even though you try

Day 3: Book that makes you laugh out loud
For about $9USD you can pick up this book from a bookstore, and less online. It's ridiculous some of the answers real students have given to real test questions.

Friday, September 2, 2011

and if that mockingbird don't sing and that ring don't shine I'mma break that birdies neck I'll go back to the jeweler who sold it to ya and make him eat every carat don't f*** with dad

Day 2: Least favorite book
Since I've read a lot of books and usually when I don't like a book, I don't finish it, this is a harder day to do. So I'm going to go with one of the books I hated reading and never would've finished if I didn't have to. Plenty of people love this book and the movie of the same name (actually a very good book to movie translation), but I just can't like it.

Thursday, September 1, 2011

here we come a-wassailing among the leaves so green here we come a-wand'ring so fair to be seen

It's time for another 30 Day Challenge. I thought, we'd take a break from the musical challenges and try a book challenge.

Day 1: Favorite book
This is hard because I have a few books that I would consider my favorite book. I think I will chose the book that I have read the most:

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

tonight I will love love you tonight give me everything tonight for all we know we might not get tomorrow let's do it tonight

So...the other day when an anonymous commenter suggested a become a stay-at-home mom and suggested farm related stuff, I reacted a lot harsher than I should have. And while it may not matter now, I apologize. But as a result of someone thinking it's okay to hide behind the anonymity of the internet and say rude things to me (I didn't publish the last comment s/he left me because it was rude. And since it's my blog, I can do that.), I am no longer allowing anonymous commenting on my blog. If someone wants to leave a comment, s/he needs to have a registered account.

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

well I'm going home back to the place where I belong and where your love has always been enough for me

So...I haven't posted in about two weeks. That's because I was busy moving to a new state and settling in. I'm still not sure if I like it here. I can't say that I hate it or even that I don't like it. It's just different than what I'm used to. And I'll be honest, I miss home. ::shrug:: I'm hoping that once I find a job, I'll like it better because then I'll have met some new people and won't feel so alone. Yes, I live in a pretty awesome townhome with my pretty awesome fiancé, but one other person and two kittens do not make for a great social circle, lol.

Anyway, the area seems pretty nice. Yeah, the first thing I see when I leave the apartment complex is a corn field and some cows. And when you look at the Google Maps directions to anywhere from here, it looks super far away...but nothing seems to be more than about 15 minutes away. And that's not all that different from home. I mean, there is a Walmart, a GameStop, a Dollar Tree, a Verizon store, a Home Depot and a bunch of other stores and restaurants less than two miles from the new place. Just there isn't much within safe walking distance. Sidewalks seem to be non-existent and there's a highway in the way for walking to the Walmart and Home Depot shopping areas.

But hey, this morning, the woman who does the hiring, for a place I applied to yesterday afternoon, called for a preliminary phone interview. She said that either way she will let me know by Friday. My fingers are crossed that she calls me Friday with good news. :)

pitter patter pitter patter

Day 29: The Best Song To Relax To
Hmm...what is a relaxing song? I guess I am cheating, since I don't find any music relaxing per se, but some sounds are relaxing, so I am choosing a sound.

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

I gave it everything I had and everything I got was bad life ain't hard but it’s too long to live it like some country song trade the truth in for a lie cheatin' really ain't a crime I’m givin' up on love cause love’s given up on me

Day 28: The Song You'd Sing First On Karaoke (If You Had To)
Oh, boy...I highly doubt that I could be convinced to get up and do karaoke. Simply because it would require a lot of alcohol, and I rarely, if ever, drink that amount. I'm just not that girl anymore. So, I guess, drunken me would pick something ridiculous, like...

Sunday, June 26, 2011

you're on your knees begging "please stay with me" but honestly I just need to be a little crazy

Day 26: A Song You've Been Meaning To Buy/Download But Haven't Yet
This is easy. The song gets stuck in my head a lot. And since I like the artist, I want the whole album, not just this song.

Saturday, June 25, 2011

I couldn't turn on the TV without something there to remind me was it all that easy to just put aside your feelings

Day 25: A Song That Changed Your Opinion Of It's Artist
I didn't really like her with her first single. But then this song came out and I decided she was decent. After a while, the first song grew on me and I can tolerate it now.

Friday, June 24, 2011

I'll be lounging on the couch just chilling in my Snuggie click to MTV so they can teach me how to dougie 'cause in my castle I'm the freaking man

Day 24: The Best Song To Play While Working
I don't have a job. Yet. So I'm going to choose a song I like to have on while working on homework. That's work, too...

Thursday, June 23, 2011

everytime I see your face my heart takes off on a high speed chase now don't be scared it's only love baby that we're falling in

Ahhh!! It's really happening. Monday, my fiancé picks up the moving truck and then on Tuesday, we move. I will no longer be living where I've grown up. Not the house, just the area. It's a state away and a big change. :)

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to this change. It's exciting and scary all at the same time. As a last chance to see the people we wanted to before moving, we're meeting a bunch of our friends at a local bowling alley for fun today. Yesterday, my grandma and uncle went out to eat with us. It was nice (maybe because it's hard to go wrong at that restaurant). A little over a week ago, we saw his grandparents. Now I still have to call my other grandma and set something up with her. Way to go, procrastination.

I finally got around to setting up an appointment with a friend who does an amazing job on nails (only took about a year). Seriously, see the picture. :)

sendin' out the message to all of my friends we'll be looking flashy in my Mercedes Benz I got lot of style check my gold diamond rings I can go for miles if you know what I mean

Day 23: The Best Song To Get The Party Started
I'm going with the cop out. ;)

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

he didn't have much a pair of hard working hands everything that I needed I got it from the old man

Day 22: A Song You Hated At First That You Grew To Like
Originally I was going to go with Adele's "Rolling in the Deep." But that song is sooo overplayed in the Detroit area that I went from somewhat neutral towards it, to liking it, to hating it in a few short months. If I don't love a song to begin with and it's overplayed, I tend to dislike it after a while. And also, if I hate a song to begin with, I rarely, if ever, like the song at a later date. So now I'm going to go with...

invitation only grand farewells crash the best one of the best ones clear liquor and cloudy eyed too early to say goodnight

Day 21: A Song You Love But Reminds You Of Bad Times
This is easy. Just because as much as I love it, I can't listen to it anymore. Reminds me of what an idiot I was...

how cruel is the golden rule when the lives we lived are only golden-plated and I knew that the lights of the city were too heavy for me though I carried karats for everyone to see

I'm going to try and experiment. I created a facebook account to go with this blog. It's my attempt to connect with any followers, fans, etc. that stumble upon this and want to be my friend. I will probably only update a couple of times a week, but, yeah... If you want to, let's be facebook friends!

got a brother down 'cause he's nothing to me yeah he's nothing to me everyone saying that it's wrong to cheat

Day 18: A Song That Is Underrated
Huh...this requires me to be more of an aficionado than I am, lol.

that I can change the world I would be the sunlight in your universe you will think my love was really something good baby if I could change the world

Hopefully this picture is easy to read (If not, right-click and view the image in a new tab. This will show the image at full size.). I started keeping track of my walking and biking on May 07, 2011 and 41 days later I have already logged 92.84 miles. While it doesn't seem like much, it's a lot for someone who's used to being a lazy bum, lol. I'm not obese, not even overweight yet (based on the BMI scale of 25 being overweight), but I don't want to get there. Based on family history, I don't need to put myself at an increased risk for high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. That's why I'm trying to better my eating habits, increase my level of activity and have fun with it. Because honestly, what [lazy] person likes exercise? Tricking yourself into exercise is a much better way. And that is just my untrained opinion.

Friday, June 17, 2011

yeah I'm sorry I can't afford a Ferrari but that don't mean I can't get you there I guess he's an Xbox and I'm more Atari but the way you play your game ain't fair

Day 17: A Song That Annoys You
Well...since I'm attempting to avoid using any repeats, I don't know what song to use for this challenge. But I think that this is a good choice...

I'm not a fan of this song when it's sung by Cee-lo Green and unedited. But when I heard this on Glee this past season, I was even less of a fan. I think the edited "Forget You" is ridiculous and annoying, so hearing it covered on a TV show I can't stand...

Thursday, June 16, 2011

baby baby try to find a little time and I'll make you happy I'll be home I'll be waiting beside the phone waiting for you

Day 16: A Song That Reminds You Of Your School Days
I don't know if the original intention was to choose a song from elementary/grade school or not, but I'm going to pick a song that reminds me of high school. ¡¡Nerd Alert!! Every bus ride for the band competitions, we would listen to this...

(It's supposed to be a black screen.)

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

oh girl lets take it slow so as for you well you know where to go I want to take my love and hate you til the end

Day 15: A Song That Makes You Feel Embarrassed
There aren't any songs that make me feel nervous. It's more that I get nervous if there is someone around. Like, for example, no listening to "F*** You" Cee-lo Green, if my grandparents are around. That would upset them.

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

The Nutcracker ballet, Waltz of the Flowers

Day 14: Your Favourite Piece Of Classical Music
I like The Nutcracker, so I think a song from that suite is a good choice.

Monday, June 13, 2011

nants ingonyama bagithi baba sithi uhm ingonyama nants ingonyama bagithi baba sithi uhhmm ingonyama ingonyama

Day 13: A Song That Inspires You
Hmm...this is a tough one. I don't really think of any songs as inspiring. So I'm going to take the easy way out and Google inspiring songs and then pick the one I like the best. :)

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Saturday, June 11, 2011

there you go making my heart beat again heart beat again heart beat again there you go making me feel like a kid won't you do it and do it one time?

Day 11: The Song With The Best Music Video
Hmm...this is hard, because how do you define the criteria that constitutes "best"? While I do like the song, I wouldn't consider it one of my favorite songs. I just like the video a lot.

Friday, June 10, 2011

so baby come to me show me who you are sweet to me like sugar to my heart I'm cravin' for you I'm missin' you like candy

Day 10: The First Single You Ever Owned/Downloaded
Umm...I have no idea what this would be. I'm going to guess that this is the closest to the first I will think of.

Thursday, June 9, 2011

I wanna hold you and love you In my arms and then I wanna need you 'cause I need to be with you till the end then I hear myself reply "she'll never let you in" this time tonight

Day 9: Your Favourite Song By A Boy Band/Group
Since an all male group is super easy to find, and I have plenty of favorites to choose from...I'm going to go with one I've liked since I was in middle school. :)

Wednesday, June 8, 2011

I’m through with doubt there’s nothing left for me to figure out I’ve paid a price and I’ll keep paying

Day 8: Your Favourite Song By A Girl Group/Band
Well...since The Donnas and the Dixie Chicks are the only all girl groups I can think of that I even like, I will choose...

Sunday, June 5, 2011

'cause baby we'll be at the drive-in in the old man's Ford behind the bushes until I'm screamin' for more down the basement lock the cellar door and baby talk dirty to me

Day 5: Your Favourite Song From The 1980's
I'll go with the following song because it was on recently and my mom mentioned toddler me singing it. I can only imagine a toddler singing this song, lol.

Saturday, June 4, 2011

hey hey mama said the way you move gonna make you sweat gonna make you groove ah ah child way you shake that thing gonna make you burn gonna make you sting

Day 4: Your Favourite Song From The 1970's
Umm...I have favorite songs from a lot of decades, but I don't always know what year a song came out. This one took a little research...just to make sure it was released in the time frame, lol.

Friday, June 3, 2011

off to college since you went away straight from high school you up and left me we were close friends also lovers did everything for one another

Day 3: Your Favourite Song By An Artist Who Is Now Dead
Well...this is easy but hard. If I'm in a rock mood, it's a Jimi song...if I'm in a poppy mood, it's an Aaliyah song. Since I don't think a band with a deceased member, but still living members should count. Yeah, the band is "dead" and a person from the band is dead, but there are still plenty of living people in the group. Besides, choosing from them as well would make this so much harder, lol.

if there's a prize for rotten judgement I guess I've already won that no man is worth the aggravation that's ancient history been there done that

Back in April I posted daily with posts dedicated to the 30 Day Song Challenge, well...it's back! This is part two, and again, for the next 30 days I will post with the songs I've chosen for each day. If I'm lucky, there will be no reposts of songs I used on the first challenge. There are actually two different set of challenges billed as part two on facebook, I chose to consider them parts two and three based on creation date. Where it's going to get tricky, is when I attempt to complete part three. Okay, let's get started...

Day 1: Your Favourite Song From A Movie Soundtrack
I always have a hard time choosing my favorite anything because it's hard to give one thing top billing. But this is relatively easy because I'm a huge fan of Disney and their animated films are practically musicals. So all I have to do is pick my favorite (at the moment) Disney song, lol. I will go with...

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

oh written in the stars a million miles away a message to the main ooooh seasons come and go but I will never change and I’m on my way

Since I don't really blog about my everyday life so much anymore, I thought that it'd be fun to do a different 30 Day Challenge each month that is 30 days long (April, June, etc.). Which means some research for me: gotta find more challenges to do. I've got one bookmarked to look at for September. But what about November? Maybe I will try the 30 Day Photo Challenge...but since I haven't really looked at it, I don't know if I want to do it on here. (Sorry, readers.)

I still plan on blogging about everyday stuff, too. Just maybe not as often. It's still just a for fun thing for me. :)

I wasted about an hour (while doing other things, like laundry as well) on facebook looking up the random 30 Day Challenges and now have enough for next year or so, lol. Who knows? Maybe now I'll do a different challenge each month, omitting February since it's two days short (and one day next year).

and now I know how far you'd go to be the next freak show American psycho cover of the magazines patron saint to troubled teens wish I never heard your name

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but I recently added a new widget to the sidebar. It's from dailymile. My fiancé and I have decided to try and get healthier. The new widget is a tracker for my miles logged. They can be from any activity: walking, running, jogging, biking, etc. My miles are just from walking and biking. Who knows, maybe eventually I will add some other workouts.

For Christmas, my fiancé bought a Xbox 360 and the Kinect. So I bought Your Shape for the Kinect. Man!, that game can kick my butt (when I use it anyway). Both of us were doing a good job and using the Kinect on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and then the Wii on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Sunday was supposed to be the rest and recover day. But then we started either biking or walking almost every where and I started to slack off in the daily exercise routine. I need to get back into the groove of things. At first, I was okay with missing a day if we rode our bikes somewhere, because I'm out of shape enough that it was pushing it past my limit to get both done efficiently. But I think that I could do all right if I started doing both. Especially when it's the yoga in Wii Fit Plus.

Now, I need to look into getting some lights for my bike. Safety precaution should we not be on our way home before it's getting dark. I should look into getting a bike helmet, but...yeah, I don't know.

baby I like it the way you move on the floor baby I like it come on and give me some more oh yes I like it screaming like never before baby I like it I, I, I like it

Within the last few months, I bought the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 from Microsoft.  But since I have no idea what I did with the warranty information, I think I'm just gonna give the darn thing away on craigslist or take it to the Salvation Army.  The stupid thing stopped working. I've only had it for a few months, and while, yes, it has a three year warranty, it does me no good if I don't know where the warranty info is.  And besides, I got it on sale at Best Buy for $14.99 and had a $15 off coupon. So basically, I got it for free. Hence my less than enthusiastic hunt for the warranty info. If I'd paid full price, or even the sale price, then I'd be more willing to look for the stuff.

I looked online (basically a google search) for why it's not working and everything I found said to call Microsoft and talk to them, go to the Microsoft site and reinstall the driver or I'm an idiot who can't change a battery.  Well, I just put a new battery in and reinstalling from the Microsoft site didn't work because when I plugged the receiver into my USB slot, it installed the latest software (which isn't the download available on Microsoft), so it couldn't install because a later version was already installed on my machine. ::sigh:: I hate Microsoft at times.

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true

Day 27: A song that you wish you could play
There isn't anything really, because even though I like music and can't imagine life without it...I don't like playing music. It's just doesn't appeal to me. And I think after six years of playing an instrument on an almost daily basis, I would know if I like playing music or not. So instead, I will just pick the song that I liked to play the best. :)

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

oh say can you see by the dawn's early light what so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight o'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming

Day 26: A song that you can play on an instrument
Well, this is easy, cuz there really aren't many songs that I can play. Basically just because I haven't picked up my flute and played something in ages. Therefore, I have to go with...

Sunday, April 24, 2011

so much pain and so much darkness in this world we stumble through all these questions I can't answer so much work to do

Day 24: A song that you want to play at your funeral
Ugh, really? How the hell should I know? Just to be funny, I could say Queen "Another One Bites the Dust." But that's just cliché. Instead, I will pick... (just don't hold it to me and expect that in 30+ years I still want this song)

Saturday, April 23, 2011

make me feel better when I’m feeling sad tell me I’m special even though I know I’m not make me feel good when I hurt so bad

Day 23: A song that you want to play at your wedding
This is easy, a song I want to hear when I marry my awesome, amazing, wonderful, caring and boatload of other positive things fiancé is...

Thursday, April 21, 2011

I look up to the sky and now the world is mine I've known it all my life I made it I made it I used to dream about the life I'm living now I know that theres no doubt I made it I made it

I noticed that recently the videos aren't posting for whatever reason. When I compose the post, there isn't a problem and that's why I go ahead and post it. Some time soon I will go through and update any videos that say something about being unable to play from here.

Side note: I noticed that I have one less follower today than I had a couple of days ago. :( Maybe my musical tastes have turned that person off, lol.

I'm thinking about adding the Reactions feature to my blog, but I'm not sure yet. It's basically a "Like" button for Blogger. If anyone is willing to comment with his/her opinion, that would be cool.

I said the tragedy is how you're going to spend the rest of your nights with the light on so shine the light on all of your friends when it all amounts to nothing in the end

Day 21: A song that you listen to when you’re happy
Well...this is easy, yet hard because I don't choose music based on my mood. Volume of the music is what gets chosen based on my mood, lol. I think I'll go with...

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

before the story begins is it such a sin for me to take what's mine until the end of time we were more than friends before the story ends and I will take what's mine create what God would never design

Day 20: A song that you listen to when you’re angry
This is easy, just pick a song I like and turn it up really loud. That's really all I do when angry: try and drown out the world. So...let me hit random and choose...

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

so why do we choose the boys that are naughty I don't fit in so why do you want me and I know I can't tame you...but I just keep trying

Day 19: A song from your favorite album
Hmmm...this is a lot like favorite song or favorite artist. How do I choose just one? I think I will have to choose...

Monday, April 18, 2011

I wanna live before I die so don't say I have to cry on one more freezing floor I ask you to open the door and see how things could have gone

Day 18: A song that you wish you heard on the radio
Hmm...I guess anything by Katy Rose. She's really the only artist that I like to listen to that doesn't seem to have any singles on the radio. Most of the music I listen to is on the radio, maybe not as often as I'd like, but at some point in the day, I should hear at least one song by the artist.

Sunday, April 17, 2011

and I guess we're really over so come over I'm not over it late night you make me feel like I'm desperate I'm not desperate oh a little bit possessive little miss obsessive can't get over it

So...I should be working on my APA proposal right now, seeing how I need to have it done by the end of tomorrow if I want my teacher to be able to check it for plagiarism before I turn it in and risk academic ruin. But instead, I'm wasting time with music. Oh, well...I ♥ music. It makes me happy. Also, I ♥ my boyfriend lots and lots because he got music for me. Now I can listen to Ashlee Simpson, Bruno Mars and Britney Spears whenever I want to.

Okay, now to work on my homework some more...

I'm about to lose my mind you've been gone for so long I'm running out of time I need a doctor call me a doctor I need a doctor doctor to bring me back to life

Day 17: A song that you hear often on the radio
This is easy. As much as I like Eminem and like the song, it's on a lot.

Saturday, April 16, 2011

I promise I might not walk on by maybe next time but not this time

Day 16: A song that you used to love but now hate
Hmmm, this seemed easier when I first saw this challenge. Now that I have to pick a song, it's not as easy as I thought it would be. So...I think it's going to be...

Thursday, April 14, 2011

it's in your head all the voices mistaken shake it off shake it off we're all dying in the end

Day 14: A song that no one would expect you to love
Umm...people who actually know me wouldn't be surprised by any song that I like. My musical tastes are all over the place. But based on my last few posts, I think anything that's not Britney Spears might surprise people, lol. I will have to go with...

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

such a lonely day and it's mine the most loneliest day of my life

Day 12: A song from a band you hate
This one is too easy. The only hard part is listening to a song long enough to copy the code to embed it, lol. I will most definitely have to go with...

And of course the song that is first on their youtube page is probably the one that bothers me the most, lol.

Monday, April 11, 2011

be be the one I need be the one I trust most don't stop inspiring me sometimes it's hard to keep on running

Day 11: A song from your favorite band
Oh em gee...so hard!! Lol, just like my favorite song, I have to say it's extremely hard to pick my favorite band and then pick a song from them. It changes with my mood...since I think this might be my top favorite...

Sunday, April 10, 2011

hush little baby don't say a word momma's gonna buy you a mockingbird

Day 10: A song that makes you fall asleep
Wow, umm...yeah...I don't know. I can't say that any song makes me fall asleep...but then again, I fall asleep with the radio on almost every night so it's possible to say that any song makes me fall asleep. So...I will have to choose...

Saturday, April 9, 2011

I can't take it take it take no more never felt like felt like this before come on get me get me on the floor DJ what you what you waiting for?

Day 9: A song that you can dance to
Umm, I'm not much of a dancer. Y'know, that whole I'm ridiculously uncoordinated and too self-conscious, lol. But...I'm going to have to go with...

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

sometimes I feel the fear of incertainty sting clear and I can't help but ask myself how much I let the fear take the wheel and steer

Day 6: A song that reminds you of somewhere
This is hard...I don't associate songs with places. Hmm, I guess I can pick a song that makes me think of lunch in high school...

Sunday, April 3, 2011

Saturday, April 2, 2011

it's Friday Friday gotta get down on Friday everybody's lookin' forward to the weekend weekend

Day 2: Your least favorite song
This, too, is a hard one for me, but only because there are a couple artists that I absolutely can not stand whatsoever and choosing a least fave is hard. So...my least favorite song is...

Friday, April 1, 2011

pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f***in' perfect

On facebook, people keep posting songs for the 30 Day Song Challenge. So...I figured, I would do it here since it makes more sense to me to do that. Plus, it means more posts for you to enjoy. :)

Day 1: Your favorite song
This is a hard one for me because my favorite song changes with my mood. Today, I think it's okay to say my favorite song is...
