If Baby S. #2 is that small, I will be a very happy momma! PGS was an 8lb baby and born before his due date, so a 6lb baby even closer to the due sounds like a wonderful outcome to me! lol

How far along? 24 weeks and 1 day

Maternity clothes? Pants, yes. I can still wear most of my regular shirts though - they just don't come as far down as they used to.

Best moment this week: PGS and I got to hear Baby S. #2's heartbeat on Monday afternoon!

The other day, PGS wouldn't let me put his diaper on until I put one on his stuffed rabbit from Build-a-Bear. So I made him a diaper just for his bunny. And once I get some more snaps, I'll finish up the matching diaper for PGS.

This past weekend, we went to the Columbus Zoo for their Easter event. PGS really liked the Artic foxes this time. One of the adorable little foxes was running around - a big step up from when I usually see them, they're always curled up in a ball napping. Having a zoo membership is a good thing. We can go for a couple of hours, parking is free and it's something to do on a nice day. We get fresh air and exercise from the family outing, too. :)
I'm not sure how toddler friendly these Archer Farms granola bars are, but PGS just stole my cranberry orange one and is happily eating it. It was my high-protein snack. :/ Now, I have to find another snack. lol

Disclaimer: I received this bandana bib free of charge and was not paid to review this bib. I could have been a huge jerk and never reviewed it. But I'm not. I can't do that, it's wrong.

I was recently sent a bib to review for my blog. It came from Pepper Skye. I'm going to quote the little About blurb I received with the bib:

"We make bibs, not your average bib for getting all nasty at meal times. We make bibs to keep our clothes dry while we are babbling and chewing on things. Our bibs are designed to soak up drool, slobber and slime of a busy day being babies. They are stylish, colorful, easy for mom to look after, and they keep my clothes dry!"

Something else to note about the bibs, is that from each purchase, 5% is donated to children's charities both in NH (the home state of the company) and throughout the U.S. I think that's pretty cool.

My son, Little PGS, is over a year old, so not quite the target audience for these bibs. But that didn't stop me from putting it on him as soon as it came in the mail. We were sent the "A Starry Skye" bib and I thought it was adorable. The fleece backing was so soft, even after washing it's still super soft and fun to touch. I love the light, bright blue fleece backing and the starry print is boyish without being the typical sport or car theme. A huge plus in my book.
While it's supposed to be more for drool-y, teething babies, PGS wore it to protect from spaghetti sauce at Bob Evan's. It worked great. Before that, it was just a stylish accessory to his otherwise adorable outfit.
Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of PGS in the bib that I can share on here. But I did get a few pictures of someone wearing the bib, scroll down to the end of the post to see the super cute bib in action.

In conclusion, I'd totally recommend this product. And am even planning on buying one or two for my niece!

Now for the fun part. Pictures!

That was interesting. And I learned that we really need to start having the video camera ready when we try a new food. He tried his shrimp and his reaction was too funny. He shuddered, made a disgusted face and threw the shrimp. lol Silly boy. (Btw, I hate shrimp. I've never liked it. But I thought it was a good idea to try the shrimp. I involuntarily reacted the same way PGS did. lol)

This morning, during his usual naked time to air out his nether regions after being in a night time diaper for 12 hours, he started grunting like he was gonna poo on my floor. So I put him on the toilet and he pooed in the toilet! I clapped and said, "yay!"
Then he was running around clapping and saying, "aaaaaay!"
It was adorable. β₯ It's so sad that my life has boiled down to being excited when my child takes a crap in the toilet. But hey, the sooner he figures this out, the sooner I can stop diapers. ;) Because he's not ready to start potty training, we're just passively potty training. Introducing him to the concept, but not expecting him to pick it up right away. But I do think it's time to go buy him a potty or a potty seat.

The little guy is one year old now. He had his 12 month well visit yesterday. Good news, he's not anemic! He's also started to thin out, for the first time in his life, he was not in the 90-95th percentile for weight. He's in the 75th for weight, 50th for length/height and 90th for head circumference. He's still my solid, short little guy with a big head. lol
ashley nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14151204081525544506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3543857467665527963.post-53217085242400475412013-02-12T13:13:00.001-05:002013-02-12T13:14:02.754-05:00An update on life...no clever title today
*sigh* It's official, I'm wasting away to nothing! lol The fiancΓ© bought me some new pants this weekend and I had to give in and try on the Size 0 jeans. And they were from Express. Not a very forgiving store IMO. :/

But more exciting, PGS will be one year old in less than two weeks!!! Oh em gee! Where has the time gone? When did my baby get so big? He loves to run around, screech in excitement and his giggle is so infectious! He still doesn't have much of a vocab yet, but he says "Momma" with consistency and has finally added "Dada" to his vocab. I think he also says "boob." o.O
Little guy only has his two bottom front teeth still. No signs of a third tooth yet. He's so stinkin' cute when he smiles and only has his two bottom teeth! :)

Both grandmas, an aunt and two of his uncles, and at least one set of great-grandparents will be here for his birthday and party. If he's lucky, he'll have 3 of 4 uncles here for his birthday. We're doing a circus/carnival theme for his party (Baby's First Birthday). Originally, we were planning on build your own burrito bowls for party food, but I think we're gonna scrap that idea and do some finger food snacks instead. PGS loves fruit and crackers, so I think we're gonna do something like that. Not sure yet. We're planning on finishing the buying of supplies and food for his party the day before it.

I am nearly done with the first batch of testers for mama cloth through my WAHM venture. Once I'm done with those, I'm gonna post on my facebook page looking for women willing to test for me. I should have had them done this past weekend and posted yesterday morning for testers, but I felt like poo. I'm feeling much better today, so I am hoping it was just a 24-hr bug.
ashley nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14151204081525544506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3543857467665527963.post-48765468896403512132013-02-03T20:55:00.000-05:002013-02-03T20:57:00.704-05:00Onesie o'Clock on the Dot
I haven't been the best at updating this blog lately. Mainly due to being a full-time SAHM to my son PGS. But another reason is that I use my precious little free time to work on my little WAHM venture: Onesie o'Clock. If you have a young child and you're interested in handmade baby/toddler goods, please check it out and Like my page. I'd appreciate all the exposure I could get. Right now, it's mainly baby/toddler clothing (skirts, onesies, pants), but soon I'll be offering Mama Cloth and possibly cloth diapers (one size pocket). I want to sell it all! LoL! If I can make it and there's an interest in it, I want to sell it. Strangely, I love being all crafty and making stuff.

In less than three weeks, I will have a one year old! Where has the time gone?
ashley nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14151204081525544506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3543857467665527963.post-44966622301883857172013-01-23T14:03:00.000-05:002013-01-24T14:19:43.684-05:00Baby PGS is 11 months old!

Baby PGS is 11 months old today! The time is flying by! Just one year ago, I was unpacking the gifts I received from my baby shower. Now I'm chasing after a toddler. Yes, I know he's not even a year old. But he runs, walks, dances, anything but crawls. He's a toddler with an infant's age. :P

Little man still only has two teeth - the two front on the bottom. He is more focused on mastering the physical skills than learning to talk. So he's still just babbling mainly. He does say Momma, Dada and I'm not quite sure what the other one is. But he uses it when referring to the cat. I just can't understand his babbling. lol

He's finally got a tooth. This past weekend, he finally cut his first tooth. Mind you, he's been teething since he was two months old!
He's a whopping 24 lbs and a perfectly average 28.5" long. <3
He's starting to walk. He has the ability to walk unassisted, but prefers to crawl still.

But here's the super quick update:
February 23, 2012 at 9:36 AM Eastern, Baby S. was born. He was 20.5" and weighed a whopping 7 lbs, 15.7 oz (they just rounded up to 8.0 even). I was induced for pre-eclampsia, so he was born at 38 weeks, 1 day gestation. Not the full 40+ weeks of the average first time mom, but he was still full term and healthy. Healthy is the key word and most important.
Baby PGS, as he will from here on out be known, was a nursing champ from the get-go. Seriously, his latch was perfect from birth, his nurses joked that he should teach their breastfeeding course. So in that sense, I've been pretty lucky as far as breastfeeding goes. Don't get me wrong, it has had its little bumps in the road here and there, but in comparison to a few of my friends, he and I have had it easy.
Fast forward to today, he is 20 lb, 27" happy baby. Okay, he's as happy as a teething five and a half month can be. Most days, he's smiley all day long. But the last couple of weeks, the teething must be really bothering him because he gets really fussy and doesn't sleep well anymore. But for the most part, his amber necklace seems to be doing its job. I think in the evenings when he gets really fussy, I may have to give him some Tylenol. I hate giving him medicine because I don't want to overdose him, y'know? I think the only reason he gets fussier and pulls at his lower jaw so much in the evenings is that he's tired and the distractions from the pain that work earlier in the day don't work as well then.
Sorry to anyone expecting to see photos of my little man. I won't be posting them. So unfortunately, you won't be seeing just how freaking cute my little man is! I can post this Instagram though. You'll just have to guess how cute he is. :P

When I looked through the challenge list and saw Day 27 on there, I originally saved this picture for that day (along with the picture that I chose to use on Day 27). But I decided that the other scene fit better on Day 27. Up had a saddening montage of the lives of Ellie and Carl, and while most of it probably goes over the heads of the children watching the movie, there are some very sad things shown. And then when she dies, I did tear up a little. And for me, that's about as close to crying at a movie as I'm going to get.

ashley nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14151204081525544506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3543857467665527963.post-10323875371268823352012-02-24T10:00:00.000-05:002012-02-24T10:00:08.471-05:00our lives are made in these small hours these little wonders, these twists & turns of fate time falls away, but these small hours, these small hours still remain
Day #24: A movie that makes you laugh
This is really easy, yet really hard at the same time. I had to think of a movie that made me laugh more than sad, or didn't even make me sad at all. So I decided that Meet the Robinsons was a good choice. I don't remember any sadness when watching it, but I do remember laughing a lot. :D

ashley nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14151204081525544506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3543857467665527963.post-12589214710727885852012-02-23T10:00:00.008-05:002012-02-23T10:00:06.516-05:00it is so easy to see dysfunction between you and me we must free up these tired souls before the sadness kills us both
Day #23: An underrated movie
This is kind of like the overrated movie yesterday. It's hard to think of a movie that is underrated... I'm going to pick one of the DisneyNature documentaries because I like them, but they don't get that much press. At least, I haven't seen much when there is a new DisneyNature film coming out.

ashley nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14151204081525544506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3543857467665527963.post-17000420378583792062012-02-22T10:00:00.009-05:002012-02-22T10:00:01.828-05:00life is a highway I wanna ride it all night long if you're going my way I wanna drive it all night long
Day #22: An overrated movie
Hmm...I can easily think of movies that got way too much press and weren't worth watching, but I don't remember anyone giving glowing reviews of those movies. Just the hype to go out and see the movie because of the franchise and products available for purchase. So...I'm choosing to go with the Disney movie I still have not seen that people were all like, "oh em gee, you have to see ____!!"

ashley nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14151204081525544506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3543857467665527963.post-14267808001213746092012-02-21T10:00:00.000-05:002012-02-21T10:00:04.494-05:00when the road looks rough ahead and you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed you just remember what your old pal said boy, you've got a friend in me
Day #21: Favorite sequel
Not really that hard to pick because most of the Disney sequels have been lame direct to VHS/DVD/Blu-ray movies that never should have been made in the first place. Especially for the sequels that I'm pretty sure the original voice cast was dead by the time the studio got around to making a sequel.
But anyway, I loved Toy Story when I was a kid and even liked Toy Story 2. But I liked Toy Story 3 more than I liked Toy Story 2, so it's my favorite sequel. That could change when the Monters, Inc. sequel is finally a reality - unless it totally sucks. :(

ashley nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14151204081525544506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3543857467665527963.post-14961605928067164722012-02-20T10:00:00.000-05:002012-02-20T10:00:14.177-05:00in Napoli where love is king when boy meets girl here's what they say when the moon hits you eye like a big pizza pie that's amore
Day #20: Your least favorite Pixar film
This is easy. I haven't liked this movie since the first time I saw it. When my mom came to visit in October, somehow it came up and she said that when I was two or three years old and saw Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs for the first time, I kept calling Snow White stupid because she ate an apple from a stranger, lol.

ashley nicolehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14151204081525544506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3543857467665527963.post-48976209839704187872012-02-17T10:00:00.002-05:002012-02-17T10:00:08.608-05:00I know you, I danced with you once upon a dream I know you, the gleam in your eye is so familiar a gleam
Day #17: Your favorite classic
I had a little bit of a hard time with this one. I wasn't sure whether my favorite was Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty.
